But there\u2019s another layer to being truly organized\u2014and that\u2019s self-care. When we care for ourselves, we\u2019re better equipped to care for others, manage our responsibilities, and feel calm in the chaos. One of my favorite quotes is &#8220;Put your own oxygen mask on first.&#8221; Putting self-care into action is just that!<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"407\" data-end=\"663\">Self-care doesn\u2019t have to be complicated or expensive. It\u2019s simply about tuning in to what you need and giving yourself permission to rest, recharge, or refocus. Don&#8217;t wait until you are burning the candle at both ends and you feel like burnt toast. Here are 25 friendly, simple self-care choices that can support your whole self.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"670\" data-end=\"691\"><strong data-start=\"674\" data-end=\"691\">Keeping up with self-care for nurturing your mind and brain.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"695\" data-end=\"785\"><strong data-start=\"695\" data-end=\"716\">Read for pleasure. <\/strong>Readers are leaders. Choose a topic you love and get lost in a book. Reading at night is a great way to get ready for rest.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"789\" data-end=\"866\"><strong data-start=\"789\" data-end=\"811\">Write in a journal. <\/strong>Process the day or get your thoughts out with daily journaling.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"870\" data-end=\"955\"><strong data-start=\"870\" data-end=\"896\">Say \u201cno\u201d without guilt. <\/strong>Easier said than done, being aware of when to say &#8220;no&#8221; protects your energy and your emotions. Release tension and reset your posture.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1530\" data-end=\"1606\"><strong data-start=\"1530\" data-end=\"1550\">Drink more water.\u00a0 <\/strong>Enhance your brain power with hydration. Hydration can work wonders for your energy and focus.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1611\" data-end=\"1683\"><strong data-start=\"1611\" data-end=\"1625\">Take a nap. <\/strong>The wonder of rest can make all the difference. For summer, choose fresh-in-season veggies and salads. Even just changing into cozy socks can feel like a reset.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1857\" data-end=\"1927\"><strong data-start=\"1857\" data-end=\"1888\">Sway, tap your toes, or dance to your favorite song. <\/strong>Movement + joy = instant mood boost.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1932\" data-end=\"2009\"><strong data-start=\"1932\" data-end=\"1962\">Have a \u201cdo nothing\u201d moment. <\/strong>A pause makes the biggest difference at times. Regroup, sit, breathe, or stand to give yourself a moment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 20px;\" data-start=\"2020\" data-end=\"2038\">Create a space that nurtures you.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"2043\" data-end=\"2108\"><strong data-start=\"2043\" data-end=\"2060\">Make your bed. <\/strong>Notice how beautiful and inviting your room looks! This visual cue signals us to slow down.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2255\" data-end=\"2321\"><strong data-start=\"2255\" data-end=\"2289\">Set a 10-minute timer to clean or organize<\/strong>. A short burst of tidying and organizing can be rewarding.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2326\" data-end=\"2407\"><strong data-start=\"2326\" data-end=\"2354\">Bring in something fresh. <\/strong>Change the vibe of your space with a plant, flowers, or a new pillow<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2412\" data-end=\"2497\"><strong data-start=\"2412\" data-end=\"2436\">Create a cozy corner.<\/strong> Adding a chair, blanket, and light can create your recharge zone. Adding cozy blankets to any spot makes that an area to reset.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2502\" data-end=\"2555\"><strong data-start=\"2502\" data-end=\"2524\">Play calming music. <\/strong>From Pandora to Spotify, music is around us.\u00a0Let sound soothe your space.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2560\" data-end=\"2636\"><strong data-start=\"2560\" data-end=\"2608\">Put something away that\u2019s been bothering you. <\/strong>That undone task is nagging you. Just do one small task to tidy, Tiny wins build momentum.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2641\" data-end=\"2723\"><b>Create a reset time daily.<\/b> A tidy space encourages peace and purpose.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Remember that you are worthy of setting aside time for self-care. Your mind and body require this. Connect<em data-start=\"2775\" data-end=\"2787\">\u00a0<\/em>to yourself, your needs, and what helps you feel more grounded, together, and whole. You don\u2019t need to do all 25 things today or any day. Just pick one that resonates, and let it be enough to bring you clarity and calm. When you&#8217;re caring for yourself, your mind is clear, your body cared for, and your space nurtured.
