fresh starts, and the gateway to the holidays! \u00a0Here are five fall organizing tips for your home. \u00a0Focusing on these areas will make your home company ready too!<\/div>\n<div>\u009b<\/div>\n<div>\u009b<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u009bOrganizing Your Time<\/span><\/div>\n<div>Activities gear up during the fall. \u00a0Your kids activities, church activities, fall festivals, and football games are all important dates and time to add to your calendar. \u00a0You may be planning to travel as well.<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>\u009bAdd all your dates to your calendar as soon as possible. \u00a0You will avoid conflicting activities and feel more in control.<\/li>\n<li>\u009b\u009bSet aside time to prepare for big events. \u00a0Be sure you add in preparation time. \u00a0This includes time to make food, time to pick up an item or time to travel to your activity.<\/li>\n<li>Get your family into the swing of things with a <a title=\"family meetings\" href=\"http:\/\/professional-organizer.com\/WordPress\/2013\/07\/06\/family-meetings-communication-and-cohesiveness\/\" target=\"_blank\">family meeting<\/a>, recording dates on a month at a glance calendar posted in your kitchen.<\/li>\n<li>\u009bUse checklists. \u00a0Spend a few minutes the week before an activity writing down all the items you will need to bring. \u00a0Having a checklist makes it easy to be sure everything gets to your destination.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u009bOrganizing Your Landing Strip<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Happily we need light sweaters and jackets, different shoes, and hopefully an umbrella during fall.<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Create a spot where things come and go in your home right at your entry. \u00a0A basket for shoes or boots corrals them where you can find them later. \u00a0Hooks on the wall add a spot to leave a jacket. \u00a0A small attractive trash can can hold umbrellas.<\/li>\n<li>\u009bUse baskets or totes to carry items back and forth to the car. \u00a0A tote \u00a0gives you a spot to place a return or other item that needs to get to the car. \u00a0It also is a way to carry it there.<\/li>\n<li>\u009bStorage for keys. \u00a0Attach a key spot for dropping your keys as soon as you enter your home.<\/li>\n<li>\u009bAs with all spots in your home, remember to declutter regularly. \u00a0Too many shoes or jackets at your landing strip makes chaotic clutter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u009bOrganizing Your Crafts<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Start by dividing items by craft. \u00a0If you know you are no longer doing that craft, send the supplies off to <a href=\"http:\/\/texasartasylum.com\/\">Texas Art Asylum.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Divide your space by &#8220;centers&#8221; where you can use your craft supplies, setting up spaces with a table, chair and storage for your supplies.<\/li>\n<li>\u009bPlan a projects area to store multiple projects in progress. \u00a0Often you are working on several projects simultaneously. \u00a0Take this into account in our craft space.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u009bOrganizing Your Pantry<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Many of our holidays revolve around food. \u00a0In the fall we are entertaining more and inviting in company. \u00a0Dinner time is back in full swing with the routines of school and work. \u00a0Organizing your pantry makes it easy to prepare meals.<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>\u009bRemove everything from your pantry and toss what is expired.<\/li>\n<li>\u009bSet up your pantry with categories like the grocery store \u00a0and additional groups such as veggies, breakfast, and snacks<\/li>\n<li>Think about what you want to frequent and easy access to first, then place items accordingly. \u00a0Especially for your kids, place items they can reach on the lower shelves. \u00a0\u009b<\/li>\n<li>A turn table lazy susan is great for difficult to access corners.<\/li>\n<li>Use baskets for snacks and floppy stuff<\/li>\n<li>Canisters for flour, sugars, and pastas are important in our climate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u009bOrganize Outside<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Cooler temperatures will start soon. \u00a0It&#8217;s time to rein in the outside clutter too.<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>\u009bBring pool items, cushions and extra toys \u00a0in and store in your garage or attic. \u00a0Remember to hose down items and clean before storing.<\/li>\n<li>\u009bAdd vertical storage to the garage to store tubs. \u00a0Label your tubs for easy access.<\/li>\n<li>\u009bFreshen up your entry by sweeping, dusting and cleaning your door
