What was your first experience with ADHD?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I first learned about ADHD when talking with teachers at my child\u2019s schools about attention challenges that we didn\u2019t know how to resolve at the time.\u00a0 It was a frustrating experience in the beginning, but we worked together to develop strategies that have helped my child succeed.\u00a0 In reality, I saw ADHD, however for years in my work as a Human Resources professional.\u00a0 I just didn\u2019t know how to recognize it at the time.<\/p>\n

What was is one thing you want everyone to know about ADHD?<\/strong><\/p>\n

While it can happen, ADHD challenges do not typically go away with age. New challenges can present themselves later in life after the structure provided by parents is no longer applicable.\u00a0 Being aware of this can help the adults with ADHD to identify and develop strategies to assist them personally and professionally.\u00a0 Taking proactive action can also help build self-confidence.<\/p>\n

What is your best tip for ADHD?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Be on the lookout for overcommitment and learn how to say no.\u00a0 ADHD can cause impulsivity that can lead to a calendar and to do list that is literally overflowing. Learn to say \u201cno\u201d to gain positive control over your commitments and schedule.\u00a0 Follow these skill-building steps:<\/p>\n
