Be realistic about the amount of sleep you need.\u00a0 <a title=\"Huff Third Metric Sleep procrastination\" href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2014\/06\/13\/sleep-procrastination-science-video_n_5488072.html\" target=\"_blank\">Sleep procrastination <\/a>for parents can be a real problem!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong> Homework routines<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Homework should have a start and finish time.\u00a0 Once your kids hit the door, have a snack and start by 4pm.\u00a0 The early start means homework ends before dinner.\u00a0 Use a timer to get your kids started and work in <a title=\"Pomodoro Technique\" href=\"http:\/\/pomodorotechnique.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">15 or 20 minute intervals<\/a>, with 5 minute breaks (known as the Pomodoro Technique) for best focus.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Homework ends when everything is tucked back in the backpack and by the landing strip.\u00a0 This spot can be at the entry where you head to the car.\u00a0 Your purse, laptop and any other items should be ready to go in the morning too.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other family routines<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Family meeting time is an important communication and team building time. It&#8217;s when everyone posts to the family calendar, talks about upcoming events and shares time together.\u00a0 Be sure to decide when you will meet and you will truly be amazed at the benefits.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Grocery shopping makes it easier to prepare family meals, healthy snacks and lunches for school.\u00a0 Set a weekly time to shop and decide on how you will create your list.
