Pick what has the biggest impact for your work.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Set a power hour and eliminate distractions.<\/h3>\n<p>Set and protect one hour during your most high focused time of day. \u00a0It&#8217;s important to know when you work best which is when you work most effortlessly and with flow. \u00a0A single distraction can set you back 20 minutes so turn off electronics, shut your door, put up a note on your cubicle or have a colleague catch distractions. \u00a0In one hour you can accomplish so much!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Use a timer to get started.<\/h3>\n<p>A timer is a great motivator for you. \u00a0Set your timer for 15 minutes to get you going. \u00a0Timers are part of the Pomodoro technique, a well-known productivity method with intervals of 25 minutes of work followed by a 5-minute break. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rescuetime.com\/\">RescueTime<\/a> is a free tool to record your time online by tracking websites and applications. \u00a0It helps you understand where you are using your time each day. It&#8217;s an automated time for your online time.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Assess the amount of time needed.<\/h3>\n<p>Whether it&#8217;s a task or project, a general idea of how long to accomplish will help. \u00a0There are two truths to this: that we may not know how long and work can expand to fit the time we give it. \u00a0A rough estimate, then doubled, can be a guide. \u00a0It will help you realistically project completion.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Time block your time.<\/h3>\n<p>Every task and project needs an assigned time to accomplish. \u00a0Block your <a href=\"https:\/\/professional-organizer.com\/WordPress\/tag\/chunk-your-project-for-productivity\/\">work in chunk<\/a>s, assigned to specific times. \u00a0Scheduling is required to get stuff done.
