When I am doing that, I&#8217;m immediately thinking about how I can incorporate other people\u2019s skills and insights.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>Bringing other people in automatically makes it more social, fun and adds accountability.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>I find that people are flattered to be considered an expert or simply recognized for what they do well.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;\">In business, as an organizer I realized early on that I simply could not organize Pittsburgh single handedly, but I could definitely be a resource to help!<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>Finding resources is one way to delegate.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>In that process relationships are often built.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>I always just ask, even when I know it might not be a great fit, because it often leads me closer to answers and progress.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>It also opens the doors for people to ask me for help as well.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;\">I find that the delegator has to be a giver as well.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>It is not about giving everyone else jobs while they watch you do nothing.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>It&#8217;s important that the delegator connect with why they should be taking on the responsibility that you are delegating.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>This is especially important at home.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>I get cooperation because I&#8217;m fair and it&#8217;s clear that we do things that ultimately benefit the whole family.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>So here are some step to think about when delegating:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style=\"text-indent: -0.25in; margin: 0in 0in 0pt 0.5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt; mso-fareast-font-family: Verdana; mso-bidi-font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">1.<span style=\"font: 7pt &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;\">Break it down and decide if this task is a good one to delegate<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style=\"text-indent: -0.25in; margin: 0in 0in 0pt 0.5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt; mso-fareast-font-family: Verdana; mso-bidi-font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">2.<span style=\"font: 7pt &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;\">Consider why they might want to help you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style=\"text-indent: -0.25in; margin: 0in 0in 0pt 0.5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt; mso-fareast-font-family: Verdana; mso-bidi-font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">4.<span style=\"font: 7pt &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;\">Decide what parameters you need to put in place.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt 0.5in;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;\">Try to find areas where you are a natural delegator and where it works in your life.
