I agree with both of these. It is such a shame if you get everything “done,” but miss the season. Plan the time in your schedule to be festive and be unproductive. One of my favorites is sipping hot cocoa while driving around looking at holiday lights. Remember to enJOY the season!
You are so right on point here, Ellen! With the chaos and extra busyness of the holiday season, it’s important to set aside some time (even a small amount of time) to take care of yourself. It’s not selfish. It’s essential.
I love both of these! The holidays aren’t meant to be simply an additional part-time job piled onto our already busy schedules. They are meant to be enjoyed. Taking time to do so is not only ok, it is what we should be doing. Which leads to your second thought. It is hard to relax if you are “carrying Christmas” all by yourself.
